Description

Family Iridaceae
Originating from Southern Africa and Zimbabwe

Delicate looking, slender and vogueish, precious blooms bring a touch of class to late season flowering displays. Borne atop a clump of semi evergreen, cheerfully bright green narrow grass like leaves on thin stems, the widely flared five petalled bright red blooms shine in late autumn light, surrounding a central cluster of yellow tipped anthers. Making a compact clump, it is invaluable for planting between species that have finished their seasons display, or planting in pots to bring late season cheer to patios. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun.

Height and spread after 1-2 years 60cm x 30cm
Mature height and spread after 3 – 4 years 60cm x 60cm
