Like a thundercloud indeed, dark and stormy coloured leaves with ruffled and ruched surfaces bear host to a dramatic golden lightning strike of central markings. The leaves are exceptional for their dramatic extremes of colour and the concentrated arrangement of the golden central stripe. In addition to their undulating surfaces, they can be saucer-shaped with upturned edges or convex, with a rounded outline shape, or slender and pointed. Their dark bluish/grey colour perfectly sets off the spikes of white flowers held just above the foliage in summer. Easy to grow in any moist soil in full or partial shade.
