Originating from Japan, Korea, southern China and Southeast Asia.
Instantly tropical, exotic and exuberant, fleshy and lush. Forming carpets of brilliantly coloured heart shaped leaves, this surprisingly hardy herbaceous plant loves shade and damp conditions, perfect for jungle and woodland gardens, and even as a marginal plant. Its zingy aromatic foliage has a dazzling array of yellow, red and green splashes of colour, adorned with spikes of white flowers during spring. In ideal conditions it will spread rapidly, but is shallow rooted and easy to control. Easy to grow, even in non boggy conditions, in any soil in sun or part shade.
Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 50cm x 1m.
