Family Asteraceae
Originating from China and Japan
An outstanding recent introduction, ‘Britt Marie’ is a clump forming perennial with large, kidney-shaped leaves that emerge in late winter/early spring, a vivid beetroot colour. They retain a rich, glossy, maroon/black colour throughout the season and above the mound of foliage, shaggy-petalled, golden/orange daisy-like flowers are held on purple stems.
Grow in deep, moist soil in shade/part shade. Will tolerate a drier soil if in full shade or a sunnier aspect if grown in permanently moist conditions.
Height and spread after 1 – 2 years 50cm x 50cm
Mature height and spread after 3 – 4 years 1m x 90cm
