Family Solanaceae
Originating from Paraguay and Argentina
Splendid exotic, evergreen shrub for a conservatory, or patio during the summer months. It may be grown as a multi-stemmed shrub or a single-stemmed standard and produces lax, arching branches bearing deep green leaves and a profusion of violet-blue flowers with yellow centres from mid-summer to late autumn.
Pruning results in a dense, bushy crown. A well-grown plant produces an extraordinary amount of flowers in the warmer summer months and is a magnificent sight.
Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil/compost in full light and protect from frost.
Mature height and spread after 3 – 4 years 2m x 2m
