Garden origin
An evergreen shrub with glossy whorls of pinnate leaves. The outer edges of the leaves are spine toothed and held stiffly up-swept on the branches. Its autumn and winter flowering display appears above the leaves in the form of highly scented, upright yellow racemes. This medium-sized shrub is upright and strongly architectural, making a fine specimen for woodland or contemporary gardens.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun or full shade. Attractive to pollinating insects.
