A small weeping tree with purple/red stems bearing leaves that emerge red and turn dark green with purple underside in summer. Single deep red/purple flowers in spring adorn this tree and in autumn, it’s dark red fruits hang from the slender dark branches and provide valuable food for wildlife.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun/part shade.
Height and spread after 6 – 7 years 1.5m x 1m
Semi mature height and spread after 10 – 12 years if not pruned 2.5m x 2.5m
