Family Poaceae
Originating from S.E. Asia
Very narrow, curved leaves with white midribs form a compact vase-shaped mound. Gracillimus is one of the oldest cultivars of Miscanthus and remains extremely popular. Although reluctant to flower in the UK, its elegant foliage alone provides really good architectural interest. The leaves turn an attractive bronze in autumn.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun. Cut back to ground level in spring.
