Originating from S.E. Asia.
A truly incendiary grass, with stunning late-season leaf colouring to match the sumptuous heads of richly coloured flowers. Its neat clump of arching downswept, slender deciduous leaves form a cascading, soft textured clump by mid-spring. In early summer the flower heads emerge in spikes held well above the foliage on slender stems, briefly pale pink before turning to a deep lustrous burgundy. An outstanding specimen for prairie and coastal gardens, and colourful enough for exotic planting schemes too. Easy to grow in any soil type in full sun.
