Loud and flamboyant red/rose pink spikes of fat tubular flowers are borne all summer and into autumn, above a loose shrubby mass of semi evergreen perennial foliage. The shade of red is striking in its own right, but each bloom has a white throat inside its wide flared form, with flecks of red making a detailed and characterful display, worthy of planting where it can be enjoyed at close quarters. Darker buds are borne on the spike, opening in a succession that lasts many weeks providing nectar for all pollinators to enjoy. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun or part shade.
