Persicaria filiformis ‘Lance Corporal’ has abundant and strikingly marked foliage and forms low and wide mounds of lush leaves. This is a bright deciduous bistort, with bold olive green, arrow-shaped leaves that emerge with a bronzy sheen. They make an exotic statement as they mature, with their contrasting burgundy chevron markings topped in summer by a haze of masses of wiry pink flower spikes bearing multitudes of tiny blooms that are loved by pollinators. Excellent for woodland dappled shade or full sun and lush enough for Jungle gardens, yet refined enough for English and Prairie styles too. Easy to grow in any soil type.
