Family Pinaceae
Originating from USA.
A steely blue and brilliant column of long silvery, bristly needles makes a striking architectural statement. Possibly the bluest and brightest of all pines, this variety slowly makes a naturally compact conical mass of dense foliage, but has the potential and vigour to be pruned into a venerable-looking ancient tree in miniature. Naturally attaining only a large shrub size, it has the potential to form a centrepiece in Oriental gardens with minimal shaping, or left to grow naturally its bold shape is perfect for repeated planting in containers in contemporary gardens, rockeries and Mediterranean planting schemes. Hardy and easy to grow in any soil in full sun.
Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 2.5m x 1.5m.
