Description

Family Pittosporaceae
Garden origin

A new discovery from Cornwall in the UK. It forms a large evergreen shrub or small tree with black stems bearing a profusion of glossy, wavy-edged silver/green leaves. Small, heavily-scented, black flowers appear in summer. This makes a fast growing and dense hedge but with careful pruning can be shaped into a lovely architectural tree – ideal for a smaller garden.

Easy to grow and tolerant of a wide range of soil types and exposure.

Height and spread after 2 – 3 years 1.5m x 1m
Mature height and spread after 6 – 7 years if not pruned or clipped 5m x 4m
