One of Urban Jungle’s top recommended small shrubs. Its outstandingly compact and architectural mound of cheerfully bright green and purple foliage are indispensable, naturally forming dark, soft evergreen shapes, perfectly setting off taller architectural plants. Its glossy leaves emerge in the palest green and change to black/purple in winter, transforming gradually during late summer with purple speckles developing on the leaves. Rarely produces tiny black/dusky purple flowers, with a honey-like scent.
Easy to grow in any soil type in full sun or part shade and in pots.
Height and spread in 5 – 10 years 1.2m x 1.2m.
