A compact, evergreen shrub with glossy dark purple foliage. It naturally grows into a small rounded mound, but with minimal clipping, Tom Thumb can have a little more shapeliness bestowed upon it, becoming a tight round cushion. The small leaves are wavy edged and new leaves emerge green, contrasting well with the existing purple foliage. As the season progresses, the leaves develop purple speckles, becoming a dramatic deep, glossy purple/black in winter.
Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun/part shade.
