An epic jungly plant with possibly the craziest, most distinctly structured flower of all, seemingly capturing the spirit of Africa, borne amongst huge fans of banana-like leaves that grow on long stems. A truly spectacular heated conservatory or summer patio plant, the ‘White Bird of Paradise’s’, long-lasting beak-like shape and ‘wings’ of pure white and inky blue petals are produced over an extended period in spring and early summer. The fan-like evergreen leaves are borne on trunks that slowly multiply, making a bushy clump. Easy to grow in any potting compost and in a sheltered sunny position.

Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 5m x 3m
