Originating from Eastern Europe
- Stunning large heart-shaped herbaceous foliage.
- Dainty spikes of blue flowers appear in spring.
- Easy to grow and steadily spreading in damp conditions, making a fantastic groundcover.
This plant is large, exotic, and forms a lush carpet with beautiful blue flowers. It’s an invaluable addition for deep shade, including dry shade, making it perfect for jungle-style gardens. However, it looks perfectly at home in traditional English woodland-style planting schemes as well. In early spring, it produces dainty spikes of pendulous lilac-blue and white flowers alongside the emerging leaves. The broad heart-shaped foliage has a coarse texture. This plant is easy to grow in various soil types and spreads rapidly, although it can be easily controlled, especially in rich wet conditions.
Height and spread after 2 – 5 years: 50cm x 2m.
