Family Viburnaceae
Originating from the Azores
An evergreen shrub which can be trained into a single-trunked tree – perfect for small gardens. Glossy, mid to dark green leaves. Large corymbs of white and pink flowers are produced in spring, followed by metallic blue fruits. The foliage of Viburnum is valued as a backdrop to other plants but with careful pruning, they can make an elegant architectural little tree.
Grow in reasonably moist soil in sun or shade.
Height and spread after 4 – 5 years 2m x 2m
Mature height after 10 years if not pruned 3m x 3m
