The Daddy of UK hardy yuccas. Hands down the biggest, most fearsome, fastest-growing, architectural, and just downright awesome plant. We’ve known this species to reach 6m tall in 20 years, forming a column of amazingly stiff dark green, evergreen daggers, borne on an elephant’s foot of a trunk, broad and cone-shaped near the base, like a firework launching the explosive looking crown skyward. After many years, incredible pendulous flower spikes of multitudes of pure white bell-shaped blooms hang from between the leaves, after which the trunk forks, making a Joshua Tree-like specimen. Grow in full sun and free-draining soil.

Height and spread after 4 – 5 years 1.5m x 80cm
Semi mature height and spread after 10 – 11 years 3m x 80cm
Potential height and spread after 25 years 8m x 2m, width is dependent on flowering and subsequent branching.
