Description:   We're looking for an exceptionally talented and passionate chef to run the Café Jungle kitchen, create menus and cook with our lovingly grown vegetables and ingredients.
Our customers dine in our tropical style cafe on comfy sofas, surrounded by exotic plants. It's a very informal style and our new menu will reflect this. However, we're as serious about food as we are about plants, both edible and ornamental, and our kitchen garden is in progress ready to supply our cafe with an abundance of lovingly grown vegetables using organic methods. All year round, heritage, unusual and exotic varieties of vegetables, salads and edible flowers will be harvested on site ready for a creative cook to work even more magic into them. Our cook will utilise these, along  with other quality ingredients, to create and implement a menu that will  delight all our customers, whether they're making a pit-stop during plant shopping, or have checked in for a memorable food experience. He or she will need to be versatile and inventive to maximise seasonal gluts, so an interest in preserving techniques is essential. Our customers also expect a wide range of home-made cakes freshly baked each day so our cook will be a great baker and oversee the creation of these. This could be a wonderful career step for an exceptionally talented and creative junior chef to make the leap to working autonomously, creating menus and running their own kitchen.
Essential requirements:   2+ years’ experience as a cook in the restaurant industry
Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures

Ability to -
Keep abreast of current trends
Create unique and imaginative dishes
Bake cakes
Work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
Key duties:   Work with the propagation manager to create new dishes for the menu, using seasonal ingredients grown on site
Maintain accurate food inventories and order ingredients efficiently
Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
Rotate and re-stock items as per established procedures
Meticulously follow health and hygiene procedures
