Family Cornaceae
Originating from China
Astoundingly beautiful tiers of hundreds of pure white flowers are borne on elegantly down-swept branches, forming a deciduous stately looking large shrub or small tree. This spectacular display is formed from large bracts surrounding a small, unspectacular green flower. They have the appearance of broad, rounded, petals with a stylish pointed tip and are followed by a display of edible fruits, almost as spectacular, maturing from green to yellow and then bright red. Incendiary autumn foliage colour completes this variety’s seasonal display. Easy to grow in any but thin chalky soil in sun or dappled shade.
Height and spread after 20 – 50 years 6m x 6m.
