Garden Styles for Agave ovatifolia 'Emerald'
Coastal, Contemporary, Desert, Mediterranean, Rare plantsOne of the hardiest, most stunning Agaves is now available in deep emerald green, making a welcome addition to one of the fastest growing, largest agave species we can grow outside in the UK. Its spectacularly broad and rounded leaves are fringed with fearsome spines. An awesome 4m tall flower spike spells the end of the plant, although it produces numerous pups, (offsets at its base) which continue the life of the plant. Plant in very free draining soil in the hottest, full-sun position. Surviving short periods of -8 to -10 degrees, colder if covered with a simple rain/snow shelter.
Height and spread after 10 – 20 years 1.5m x 2.5m
