Description

Family Celastraceae
Originating from Japan

One of our favourite ground covering plants. Frothy masses of minute, cute and glossy leaves form abundant carpets, undulating and soft, mossy and dense, it creeps up tree trunks and over stones, making an invitingly tactile cloak over any low object in its path. This invaluable variety softens the nether regions of planting compositions. Unfussy about shade or root competition, its tiny evergreen leaves are worthy of viewing close-up with smartly variegated veins, developing red tints in winter. It will even climb up itself, making organic mounds and ridge shaped masses. Easy to grow in any soil in sun or part shade.
