Fast-growing fan palm with a stout trunk and crown of large, mid-green, fan-shaped leaves with loose hanging threads at the margins. In severe winters the foliage may be lost to frost but quickly regrows in spring and summer. This palm will tolerate -5 degrees unprotected, but we recommend protection in winter with fleece. We also only recommend this palm for coastal and milder parts of the UK.
