Ceanothus ‘Dark Star’ plants 3L
Family Rhamnaceae
Originating from E. USA
Urban Jungle’s favourite Ceanothus, it is outstanding in both foliage and flower, vigorous and floriferous, with a special intensity of colour unmatched by any blue flowered species. Its abundant, tiny, glossy leaves, are a nearly black shade of green, chunky, coarsely textured and fantastically detailed with a deeply veined surface, they provide the perfect backdrop for the fabulously rich, dark purple/blue flowers that appear in profusion during late spring and early summer. Happiest in full sun,it will quickly form a dense evergreen shrub. Undemanding in all but the heaviest wet soil, or the thinnest chalky ones.
Height and spread in 5 – 10 years 2m x 2m.
