Family Hydrangeaceae
Garden origin
Flamboyant, fluffy and frothy, confections of large bubblegum pink and white cones of flower are proffered in a firework-like profusion at the tips of the strong, dark, non flopping, deciduous stems all over this abundant rounded shrub. They emerge as pure white cones (panicles) in late spring, gradually fattening and taking on pink tones, before becoming rich cerise in late autumn and turning tan coloured into winter. The handsome stems bear dark green pointed foliage making a great backdrop for the light coloured flowers. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun or part shade.
Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 2.5m x 1.5m.
