Floriferous and aromatic, cool silver-green and hazy purple-blue, Russian Sage evokes the Mediterranean, like an extra-large Lavender. Its deciduous silvery foliage and stems contain intensely aromatic essential oils and, most importantly, are less prone to flopping over like the larger, less upright species. When planted in groups, the floral impact of its mass flowering is hard to match, creating a haze of azure blue/purple, alive with the buzzing of bees and all pollinators. Easy to grow in poor, well-drained soil in full sun and in pots.
