Panicum virgatum ‘Dallas Blues’ is a generous and billowing, soft and cool grass, with broad leaflets that elegantly droop near their tips, creating a mostly upright clump of impenetrable foliage. The highly mobile clumps sway in the slightest breeze, making hazy mounds of silver/blue foliage, topped by airy sprays of tiny purple/pink spikes of flower in summer and autumn. The foliage turns spectacular shades of yellow and tan before dying down for the winter. Lush enough for the sunnier spots of jungle gardens, it is adaptable to any style. It is one of the few herbaceous plants we recommend for contemporary gardens. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun.
