Originating from German cultivar with Korean parentage
Outrageously intricate and diminutive, but with a big character, this charming slow growing fir brings so many qualities to all styles of gardens, it is surely a must have variety. Its incredibly compact crown of needles forms tight mounds, creating soft organic hummock-like forms that are effective in large planting compositions, yet its twisted and recurved needles that reveal their white undersides make fascinating viewing close-up. Perfect for planting in pots as a single specimen, or in groups in rockeries, and Oriental or Mediterranean style gardens. It is hardy and easy to grow in all but alkaline soils in full sun.
