An evergreen grass, forming softly arching clumps of fine, hair-like leaves that sway in the slightest breeze. Olive green with orange/pink streaks in spring and summer, developing rich, russet and bronze tones in autumn, these persist throughout the winter, adding invaluable form and colour during the bleakest months. Spikes of purple/green flowers add to the display.
Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun/part shade. Comb foliage with fingers or rake in spring to tease out dead thatch.
Mature height and spread after 2 – 3 years 1m x 1.2m
