Family Asphodelaceae
Originating from China, Korea and Japan
Loud and exotic, slender and stylish, yet delightfully vulgar. One of the more strikingly marked daylilies, with stripes of colour accentuating its elegantly wide flared and recurved petals. Fantastically bold golden strips run along the centre of its three primary petals, dissecting their deep orange/burgundy main colour. The secondary three petals are solid gold and are borne on tall spikes over a clump of deciduous rich green strap-shaped leaves. Although Individual blooms last only a day there is a long succession of them on each spike, making a long-lasting flowering display. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun or light shade.
Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 80cm x 50cm.
