Willowy and airy, yet lush and exotic, this deciduous small tree or large shrub has both grace, and a flamboyant flowering display. Its large, slender leaves are borne in profusion and have an elegant poise, their pointed tips making a bushy, bristly-looking crown borne on shapely upright tan-coloured branches. In mid to late summer, a stunning, sweetly scented floral display appears at the tips of its shoots. Large trusses of foxglove-like pink flowers adorn the plant, their widely flared trumpets display an inner golden throat marked with deep cerise pink stripes. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun.
