Originating from New Zealand and South America

A fast growing, compact, evergreen upright shrub or small tree with rich green leathery, almost succulent looking oval leaves. More upright and denser growing than the species, it makes an excellent wind tolerant hedge, perfect for coastal areas where its darker foliage can provide an excellent foil for silver leafed or variegated plants. With a little pruning, Griselinia can be transformed into superb architectural shapes, even miniature tree-like, centre-stage specimens. Undemanding in full sun in any soil type, and hardy in all but the coldest regions of the UK.
