Big, bold and lush in summer, incendiary in autumn and dizzyingly fragrant in winter, the outstanding performance of this variety makes it one of the best Witch Hazels of all. Diagonally growing branches create a vase shaped shrub bearing dense masses of handsomely veined leaves that emerge as the profuse, spectacular display of winter borne frizzy, deep golden yellow, intensely fragrant flowers comes to an end. The flowers emerge after the kaleidoscopic red yellow and purple autumn colours of the foliage finish their display. Our Hamamelis intermedia x ‘Arnold Promise’ plants in 10L pots are hardy and easy to grow in any soil in full sun or part shade.
