Description

Family Pinaceae
Originating from South and East U.S

One of the best tactile plants, with soft and slender pendulous needles up to about 100mm long. They are a cool silver blue/green shade. With careful pruning the foliage can be borne on a branching structure that imitates a shapely miniature tree or ‘life-size’ bonsai. It can make an architectural statement as a single specimen or potted as a patio plant, or planted in groups creating serene composition in the style of Japanese gardens. Rarely seen in the UK ,this plant is from artisan Dutch growers, which is probably 10 – 12 years old already. Hardy and easy to grow, tolerant of most soil conditions.

Height and spread after 5 – 6 years 80cm x 80cm
Mature height and spread after 15 years + if not pruned 4m x 3m.
