Family Asparagaceae
Originating from S.E. USA
An explosive-looking crown of brilliantly gold-margined stiff leaves makes a significant impact in gardens. One of our hardiest and most frequently planted species in the UK, it will branch after flowering, quickly forming a multi-headed plant. The 1m tall inflorescences (branched flowering structure) bear many large, pure white, bell-shaped blooms over a long period in summer. A robust and easy-to-grow plant tolerating most soil types, preferring poor well, drained full, sun positions.
Height and spread after 10 – 20 years 2m x 2m.
