Upright evergreen shrub with small, needle-like, aromatic leaves and purple/blue flowers along the length of the stems from spring to autumn. ‘Miss Jessopp’s’ is one of the hardiest, fastest growing and upright Rosmarinus, and forms a tidy columnar shape, very distinct from the untidy sprawling habit of many others. Like Lavender, to which it is closely related, it is extremely drought tolerant and contrasts well with the spikes, swords and lances of yuccas and agaves in a gravel garden.

Grown for centuries in the UK its culinary uses are well known – roast lamb and vegetables wouldn’t be the same without it and it can be harvested all year, but did you also know that amongst its myriad medicinal applications it is used to treat vertigo, insomnia and baldness?
