Family Rhamnaceae.
Originating from Europe and Western Asia.
A billowing, fine and fuzzy haze of slender foliage is borne on willowy, lithe branches that sway in the slightest breeze. The leaves are a cheerful shade of olive green, with a golden midrib, and turn a brilliant shade of buttery yellow before falling. They form a highly mobile mass of elegantly curved foliage that casts little shade, making it perfect for under-planting in Mediterranean or traditional planting schemes. Tiny flowers are clustered amongst the foliage in summer; inconspicuous to humans, but irresistible to pollinators. Hardy and easy to grow in any soil in sun or part shade.
Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 4m x 4m.
