Lofty, swaying spires of chunky dark blue flowers up to 1.8m tall make a significant impact in gardens. The spikes of many individual semi-double blooms have a central array of pale yellow nectar sepals, elegantly sheltering the pollen-bearing stamens which no passing pollinator can resist. The petals’ many shades of blue and dark inky purple give the flowers a soft and luxurious look, complimented by the foliage. Rich green, handsomely serrated leaves generously clothe the upright herbaceous stems completing this variety’s excellent display. Easy to grow in all but the heaviest wet soil in full sun.
