(syn. Ligustrum japonicum ‘Coriaceum’)
Family Oleaceae
Originating from Japan
Dark and lustrous, compact and architectural, this evergreen, upright small shrub has a big personality, with beautiful fleshy leaves that are gracefully recurved. They have a bunchy, clustered distribution on the upright branches, giving the plant an almost columnar habit. White conical sprays of flowers are produced in mid to late summer contrasting perfectly against the backdrop of glossy foliage. Slow growing, but reliable and hardy it makes an ideal accent plant for contemporary gardens in containers, but is adaptable to all styles. Undemanding in any soil in full sun or light shade.
Height and spread in 10 – 20 years 2.5m x 1.5m.
