Miscanthus sinensis ‘Grosse Fontane’ is a towering and resplendent, cascading and graceful grass. One of the most stately miscanthus, it is spectacular in both flower and foliage, its movement and sound demand attention. Swaying elegantly and rustling in the slightest breeze, its arching, abundant foliage is crowned with beautiful pink plumes of flower, becoming white and creamy as the season progresses, turning to tan and dark brown, maintaining its impact late into winter. The deciduous foliage turns orange and yellow and can be cut back in spring before the new season’s shoots appear. Undemanding in any soil in full sun.
