Fulsome and plush. broad and stylish, yet loud. One of the velvety looking daylilies, with elegantly wide flaring and recurving, charred scarlet coloured petals, forming a crucible around the molten, glowing yellow/orange throat. They are borne over a clump of deciduous rich green strap-shaped leaves. Individual blooms last a day but are borne on spikes of many buds, so it will soon be followed by another bloom. They form a slowly spreading clump bearing many flower spikes during summer, so the overall flowering period of a whole plant may last many weeks. Easy to grow in any soil in full sun or light shade.
Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 80cm x 50cm.
