Originating from Brazil & Argentina. Luxuriously intense, dark and rich, fragrant and floriferous, blooming bountifully to form soft, low undulating mounds of flowers all summer. This invaluable species provides an exceptional spread of purple flowers for months during summer and autumn, appearing in clusters atop short burgundy coloured stems above the herbaceous foliage. All parts of the plant are slightly hairy and rough to the touch, perhaps the source of their deer resistant reputation. Pollinators however are not perturbed and love this plant. Our Verbena rigida 3L plants have substantial roots and are easy to grow in lighter well drained soil in full sun.
