Originating from Australia (New South Wales)
- A graceful, evergreen shrub or small tree with glossy silver-green leaves and red shoots.
- Profuse white flowers attract pollinators in summer amid an airy crown.
- Tough and simple, it thrives in well-drained soil in full sun.
A rare beauty, Eucalyptus gregsoniana, the Wolgan Snow Gum, enchants with elegant charm. Its silver, grey, and white patchwork bark dazzles year-round. This Urban Jungle star, grown in our Suffolk display gardens, hits 5m tall and 4m wide in 10-20 years.
Prized by our customers, it shines after years of germination trials. We finally cracked it—hundreds sprouted from our own trees in 2023 and are now trickling down for sale! The miniature Eucalyptus packs silvery foliage, red stems, and pollinator-loved blooms. It suits Norfolk and Suffolk’s sunnier, drier plots perfectly.

Planting suggestions for the Wolgan Snow Gum
With all the qualities of full-size Eucalyptus, but in a pocket-sized version, this stunning species brings outback charm to planting compositions. Its shrub-like stature means that the soil around it is not impoverished or overly packed with moisture-grabbing roots. Furthermore, if pruned in March before vigorous growth commences, its crown can be lifted to show off plants below it.
Let the underplanting commence! Its airy crown means species like Beschorneria yuccoides ‘Flamingo Glow’, Beschorneria yuccoides, and Yucca gloriosa ‘Variegata’ are more than happy to grow under or around it. Grevillea ‘Olympic Flame’ and Grevillea diminuta will also happily take residence in an Aussie garden clique.
The fluttering, slender, curved leaves ruffle in the slightest breeze, making a pleasant sound. Their glaucous sheen reflects light as they do. We like to call this special reflected light ‘bush light’. In addition to its aromatic foliage, this effect completes the Wolgan Snow Gum’s spectrum of sensory delights.
Planting silver-leaved species in ‘bush light’ adds even more drama to gardens. Dasylirion acrotriche, Agave parryi var. truncata, and Yucca glauca all shimmer in the mobile, dappled shade.
